Abstract

  • The total workforce in August 2023 was 8.02 million people, an increase of 352 thousand people compared to August 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 1.53 percentage points.
  • The working population is 7.55 million people, an increase of 353 thousand people from August 2022. The employment opportunities that experienced the largest increase were in the wholesale and retail trade sector, car and motorbike repair and maintenance (137 thousand people).
  • A total of 3.13 million people (41.48 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 0.55 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The percentage of underemployed people decreased by 0.11 percentage points, while the percentage of part-time workers increased by 1.93 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 was 5.89 percent, down 0.27 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate with a high school education is the highest, namely 8.21 percent.
