Abstract

  • The workforce in August-February 2022 was 7.74 million people, an increase of 259 thousand people compared to February 2021. In line with the increase in the number of workers, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also increased by 1.06 percentage points.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in February 2022 was 5.47 percent, down 0.54 percentage point compared to February 2021.
  • The working population is 7.32 million people, an increase of 285,000 people from February 2021. The employment field that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Manufacturing Industry Sector (1.32 percentage point). Meanwhile, the jobs that experienced the largest percentage decline were the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector (1.16 percentage points).
  • A total of 4.45 million people (60.87 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 1.71 percentage points compared to February 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed decreased by 0.01 percentage point, while the percentage of part-time workers increased by 3.52 percentage point compared to February 2021.
  • There are 489 thousand people (4.45 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consisting of unemployment due to COVID-19 (46 thousand people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (22,000 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (21,000 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours. due to COVID-19 (400 thousand people)
