Abstract

The export value through loading ports in Sumatera Utara region in June 2024 decreased compared to May 2024, namely from US$869.13 million to US$861.32 million or decreased by 0.90 percent. When compared to June 2023, Sumatera Utara's exports decreased by 4.34 percent.

The group of goods that experienced the largest decrease in June 2024 compared to May 2024 was the group of various chemical products, which decreased by US$55.30 million (-40.66%) followed by the group of soaps and cleaning preparations, which decreased by US$11.78 million (-23.07%). The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value was the group of animal/vegetable fats & oils, which increased by US$70.86 million (24.14%), followed by the group of food industry dregs/wastes, which increased by US$9.11 million (15.07%).

Exports to China in June 2024 were the largest at US$143.16 million, followed by the United States at US$93.30 million and Japan at US$53.06 million with the contribution of the three reaching 33.61 percent. According to the main export destination countries in June 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$325.13 million (37.75%).
