Abstract

  • The Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of Sumatera Utara as a result of the Long Form SP2020 is 2.48. which means that only about 2-3 children are born to women during their reproductive period. This condition indicates that the LF SP2020 results are heading for Replacement Level.
  • Over a period of one decade, the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) decreased significantly from 26 per 1000 live births in the 2010 Population Census to 18.28 per 1000 live births in the Long Form SP2020.
  • There was a decreasing trend of lifetime in-migration during the SP2010-LF SP2020 period. The lifetime migration rate from the SP2020 LF is 3.77, which means that there are around 3 out of 100 people who live in Sumatera Utara but were not born in Sumatera Utara.
  • The results of the Long Form SP2020 data collection in Sumatera Utara Province noted that there were no significant differences between the prevalence of disability by city-village and gender. The difference in the prevalence of disability between men and women and between children and youth is around 0.1 to 0.2 percent. When viewed at the target age, the prevalence of disability in the elderly is much greater than the other target ages.
  • Education Indicator Results of the Long Form SP2020 shows that the education level of the population of Sumatera Utara aged 15 years and over is dominated by secondary education. Out of 100 residents aged 15 years and over, there are around 44 people who have graduated from SMA/equivalent and only 10 people who have graduated from Higher Education (PT).
  • The percentage of households occupying houses that meet the building's resilience requirements is 94.37 percent. Meanwhile by region, the percentage of urban and rural areas was 95.49 percent and 93.02 percent, respectively.
