Background

  • SUPAS (Inter-Census Population Survey) is a comprehensive source to obtain data relating to the population.
  • SUPAS done between two censuses.
  • SUPAS has done four times: 1976, 1985, 1995, and 2005.
  • SUPAS done back in 2015

Purpose

  • Estimating the amount, distribution and composition of the population as well as comparison with other sources.
  • Provides data characteristics of the population.
  • Providing data for the calculation of demographic parameters (Birth, Death, Migration).
  • Renew the population projections well as correcting the results of population projections 2010-2035
  • Providing demographic data as material planning and evaluation of development programs:
    • Health
    • Family Planning
    • Education
    • Employment
  • Evaluation of the last MDGs
    • Goal 2. Achieve universal primary education
    • Goal 4. Reduce child mortality
    • Goal 5. Improve maternal health
    • Goal 7. Ensure environmental sustainability
Depth research on population (example: analysis of the determinants)


Training Officer of Inter-Census Population Survey 2015 (SUPAS 2015) Nias Training Center held on 16th to 26th April 2015 was opened by the Head of BPS-Statistics of Sumatra Utara Province, Mr. Ir. Wien Kusdiatmono, MM.

Nias Training Center are all participants of the whole Nias
Island: All Regencies are Nias, Nias Utara, Nias Barat, Nias Selatan and Gunungsitoli City.
