Abstract

  • The export value through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in January 2025 decreased compared to December 2024, namely from US$988.90 million to US$919.5 million or decreased by 7.02 percent. When compared to January 2024, North Sumatra's exports increased by 24.99 percent.
  • The group of goods that experienced the largest decrease in January 2025 compared to December 2024 was the aluminum group, which decreased by US$20.92 million (-50.42%) followed by the group of various chemical products, which decreased by US$11.57 million (-7.68%). The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value was the animal/vegetable fats & oils group, which increased by US$15.09 million (4.50%) and followed by the group of various soaps and cleaning preparations, which increased by US$11.92 million (30.34%).
  • Exports to China in January 2025 were the largest at US$136.60 million, followed by the United States at US$128.81 million and India at $63.06 million with the contribution of all three reaching 35.73 percent.
  • According to the main export destination countries in January 2025, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$328.86 million (35.77%).
