Abstract

The export value through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in July 2024 increased compared to June 2024, namely from US$861.32 million to US$969.75 million or an increase of 12.59 percent. When compared to July 2023, North Sumatra's exports decreased by 0.03 percent.
  • The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in July 2024 compared to June 2024 was the group of various chemical products, which increased by US$39.64 million (49.12%) followed by the group of organic chemicals, which increased by US$12.13 million (30.54%). The group of goods that experienced the largest decrease in export value was the group of animal/vegetable fats & oils, which decreased by US$38.87 million (-10.67%), followed by the group of tobacco, which decreased by US$2.30 million (-8.76%).
  • Exports to China in July 2024 were the largest at US$191.80 million, followed by the United States at US$122.46 million and India at US$77.89 million, with the contribution of all three reaching 40.44 percent. According to the main export destination countries in July 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest at US$413.53 million (42.64%).
