Abstract

  • The value of exports through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in March 2024 increased compared to February 2024, namely from US$746.83 million to US$861.14 million or an increase of 15.31 percent. When compared with March 2023, North Sumatra's exports decreased by 5.41 percent.
  • The category of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value in March 2024 compared to February 2024 was the animal/vegetable fats & oils group, which increased by US$30.00 million (11.16%), while the category of goods that experienced a decrease in export value was among the 10 categories of goods. The main category is wood, goods made from wood amounted to US$ 1.28 million (-6.64%).
  • Exports to China in March 2024 were the largest, namely US$156.92 million, followed by the United States at US$114.45 million and India at US$47.61 million with the contribution of the three reaching 37.04 percent.
  • According to the group of main export destination countries in March 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$319.43 million (37.09%).
