In January 2020, the Sumatera Utara Province NTP (2018 = 100) was
113.69, an increase of 1.75 percent compared to the December 2019 NTP
which was 111.74.

The increase in NTP in January 2020 was due to the increase in NTP of
the People's Plantation Plant subsector by 4.25 percent, and NTP of the
Fisheries subsector by 0.37 percent. Whereas the NTP of the Food Crop
subsector fell by 1.19 percent, the Horticulture Sub-sector FTT dropped
by 0.81 percent, and the Farmers' FTT NTP dropped by 0.21 percent.

Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural
inflation / deflation rate. In January 2020, there was rural inflation
in Sumatera Utara of 0.59 percent. This was caused by the increase in
the household consumption index in 10 consumption groups, namely: the
index of food, beverages, and tobacco by 0.78 percent, clothing and
footwear index by 0.44 percent, the index of housing, electricity and
other fuels by 0.06 percent, Household equipment, equipment and routine
maintenance index by 0.48 percent, health index by 0.55 percent,
transportation index by 0.23 percent, recreation, sports and cultural
index by 0.06 percent, education index by 0.01 percent, the index of
food and beverage / restaurant provision by 0.32 percent, and the index
of personal care and other services by 0.53 percent. While the index of
Information, communication and financial services fell by 0.06 percent.

The Sumatera Utara Province Agriculture Exchange (NTUP) in January 2020
was 114.25, an increase of 2.03 percent compared to NTUP in the
previous month.
